A Journey that Started on the Ground

Nadiah’s journey with aAdvantage began as a Fieldwork Associate in 2024, and it was there that her interest in organisational and people-focused work first took root, drawing her into a full-time role as an Analyst. Two years on, she is still building on that foundation, working alongside senior team members, such as Project Directors, and stakeholders across different organisations.

Her interest in this field began earlier than her time at the firm. At university, studying Economics gave Nadiah a framework for understanding how people and organisations make decisions. But it was her varied student roles – spanning operations, research fieldwork, and teaching – that brought those concepts to life. Working both behind the scenes and directly on the ground gave her a complete view of how teams operate. "This helped to shape my interest in organisational and people-focused work," she recalls.

Wearing Many Hats

"I've had the opportunity to wear different hats across research, human resources, organisation development, and business facilitation projects. My work ranges from uncovering insights through data, to supporting conversations that shape organisational decisions," Nadiah explains. Her role as an analyst has allowed her to contribute meaningfully while continuously learning, adapting and growing.

Among the projects that have pushed her the most are customer satisfaction surveys and employee engagement surveys. Working on them pulled her further into analytics and data storytelling, sharpening her skill to turn raw findings into clear insights for clients to act on with confidence.

Keeping the Human Story in the Data

Numbers, on their own, rarely tell the whole story – at least not to Nadiah. Qualitative feedback uncovers the "why" behind the numbers, bringing to light critical concerns and opportunities that quantitative trends alone cannot capture.

“Data becomes more meaningful when paired with context and human perspectives. While trends help us understand what is happening, qualitative feedback often reveals why it is happening – bringing underlying concerns and opportunities to light. By considering both, I can ensure that the human story behind the numbers is not lost.”

That same instinct carries into where she wants to grow next. "I'm hoping to become more involved in client conversations and facilitation," she shares, as she would like to sharpen her ability to ask thoughtful questions, read different perspectives, and turn what she hears into solutions clients can use.

How Balance Helps Nadiah Show Up

Nadiah’s working style balances independent thinking with collaboration. "I value having time to brainstorm independently, so that I can come into team discussions prepared and contribute meaningfully as we bounce ideas off one another," she says.

The same instinct for balance shows up when things get busy. "Having clear boundaries between work and personal time helps me stay grounded and effective," she explains. A run, a moment to disconnect, an activity that has nothing to do with work may seem small, but these simple habits allow her to return with renewed energy and focus.

It's a mindset that extends to the impact she wants to build. "I hope my work contributes to meaningful and sustainable outcomes for clients, whether through data-driven insights, thoughtful conversations or close collaboration," she reflects. Beyond clients, she is equally committed to supporting her teammates through shared perspectives and an environment where people learn from one another.
