History of aAdvantage
aAdvantage was founded in end 2002 by a group of friends/colleagues with organisational development (OD) consulting experiences in facilitating change and business transformations in organisations. Our Leadership Team comprises Jacqueline, Vincent and Chern Han, with each possessing a set of deep domain expertise in specific areas but coming together, we are able to execute our end-to-end transformation solutions successfully in both public sector and private sector organisations.
Over the last two decades, we have strengthened our capabilities and service offerings to meet the evolving needs of our clients and to be future-ready and achieve sustainable growth.
Our first year was tough as soon after we established the company and won our first few key projects, in 2003, SARS impacted us as all our projects slowed down or had to be postponed. Post SARS, we were encouraged by some of our early project wins with Changi Airport, SingHealth, Mindef, EZ Link, TMCC on service consulting and training projects. These early years helped us build our strong capabilities in service transformation consulting and service experience training today. Today, we are proud to have worked with organisations like Goodwood Park, Triumph International, Land Transport Authority, IRAS, Housing & Development Board, Marina
Bay Sands, Alexandra Health, Jurong Health Services, NHPG, HMI International, on their customer experience and culture transformation journeys.
In 2003, as the new kid on the block and “can do” spirit, we gradually built our capabilities and project experience in research and insights especially in the public sector with agencies such as MOM & NEA where we executed customer and public sector projects. Today after 18 years of experience, we are able to execute complex large-scale quantitative (surveys, audits) and qualitative projects (focus groups, large group facilitation sessions, small focus group discussions & in-depth interviews). More complex projects involve sample sizes of more than 5000 and whole of government projects involving multiple public sector agencies. We focus on research projects related to customer, employee and culture and its impact on business transformation
Successful organisational transformation suggests that implementation of strategies is key, and the role of Leaders at all levels of the organisation is critical to achieve the desired outcomes of transformation. We worked with many clients on team and leadership development with senior management, middle management and with intact functional teams. Today, we see a greater need for team alignment and leadership coaching to drive successful transformation. We see a growing demand for our services to facilitate difficult conversations and enabling leaders to resolve issues, establish common goals to move forward.
We observed that since 2012, there has been more awareness that for our local enterprises to grow and transform their business, there needs to be more attention and investment in human capital. We are proud to be part of a selected list of consultants supporting the then SPRING Singapore Innovation and Capability Voucher (ICV) scheme. We helped more than 80 SMEs establish their basic human capital practices (e.g. establish job grading system and set up market competitive compensation & benefits structure; review employment terms and conditions to ensure compliance to standards). Today, our human capital & culture transformation practice works with our larger local enterprises to enhance their human capital capabilities to support their growth initiatives locally and regionally in areas such as enhancing performance management, analytics for hiring and talent management, competency and leadership development.
