Introducing Dexter Chew

Dexter Chew, our spirited Analyst at aAdvantage Consulting, has been part of the team since June 2024. His journey with aAdvantage began as an intern, where he was drawn to our dynamic and flexible work environment. He felt very comfortable which led him to take on a full-time role after graduating from the National University of Singapore.

Role Overview at aAdvantage Consulting

As an Analyst, Dexter examines and interprets data, uncovering insights that help clients identify their strengths and address areas for improvement. His role spans various projects including those involving surveys, workshops, and focus groups, each tailored to address specific client needs.

Transition from Internship to Full-time

Moving from an internship to a full-time analyst role marked a significant expansion in Dexter’s responsibilities and involvement within the company. Unlike his internship role, which focused mainly on dealing with data, his full-time role now offers him more comprehensive project involvement – from initial client proposals to the delivery of final reports. This breadth of experience has allowed him to form direct relationships with clients and oversee projects from inception to conclusion, something that he did not get to experience as an intern.

A Memorable Experience at aAdvantage

Having been with aAdvantage for almost a year, the 2024 aAway Day to Mount Austin in Johor Bahru stands out as Dexter’s most memorable time. The annual team-building event offered him a unique opportunity to bond with colleagues outside the usual work setting, enhancing team spirit and providing everyone with a refreshing break from everyday work routines.

Asking Questions – A Valuable Skill

Dexter credits much of his professional growth to his proactive approach in asking questions, which he considers vital for understanding and swiftly adapting to new roles within any organisation. This practice has not only accelerated his learning process but also demonstrated his dedication to delivering quality and efficiency in his work.

Finding Fulfillment as a Professional Service Provider

Dexter finds immense satisfaction in delivering high-quality work that meets, and often exceeds, client expectations. Positive client interactions and the successful completion of projects underscore the rewarding nature of his role, motivating him to continue serving clients better.

Unwinding and Recharging

Outside of work, Dexter enjoys playing video games and watching shows, with Mahjong (a tile-based game) being his favourite leisure activity. Playing Mahjong allows him to keep his analytical skills sharp while enjoying quality time with friends and family, balancing his professional and personal life effectively.
