Work Life Excellence Award 2012

aAdvantage Consulting receives recognition for its work-life strategy

aAdvantage Consulting is one of 45 organisations honoured for championing work-life harmony.

This marks the first year the firm receives the Work Life Achiever Award. It is a recognition of its innovative work life strategy that includes 'Flexi-hours', 'Marriage leave', 'Sabbatical' and 'Work-from-home' programmes.

Ms Jacqueline Gwee, Director and Founder of aAdvantage received the award on behalf of the firm at the Work-Life Excellence Award 2012 Presentation Ceremony, held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel on 12 October 2012.

In his speech, Guest-of-Honour Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, Acting Minister for Manpower and Senior Minister of State for National Development said that employers play an important role in ensuring that the staff are enjoying work-life harmony. Also, with the increasingly advanced technological and communication tools, supervisors should be mindful not to expect immediate answers from staff members after office hours and when they are on leave.

Held once every two years, the Work-Life Excellence Award is organised by the Tripartite Committee which includes Ministry of Manpower (MOM), National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF), to recognise employers in Singapore for their achievements and contributions in promoting greater flexibility and work-life harmony.

“I appreciate that work-hours are flexible, which allows me to plan my work schedule more efficiently. Senior staff also encourage me to work from home at times, if that would improve work efficiency-time saved from commuting.”
