Personal Values Assessment

During the presentations, we also shared a tool called the Personal Values Assessment (PVA). The tool is a simple survey that provides a wealth of information to help you understand your values. The PVA is one of many Culture assessment tools developed by our strategic partner, Barrett Values Centre. Its suite of tools range from Culture Values Assessment, Leadership Values Assessment and Merger / Compatibility Assessment.

Woody Allen, comedian, screenwriter, and director, once said: “Eighty percent of success is showing up.”

If this was ever true, it certainly isn’t anymore. Today, simply showing up is no longer an indicator of performance. High performing organisations recognise that an engaged workforce is their key competitive advantage. They report better business results, higher productivity level and lower absenteeism rate. So what drives engagement?

In recent nation-wide Employee Engagement and National Values studies conducted by aAdvantage Consulting, work-life balance was identified as one of the key drivers to recommend the organisation as a good place to work; work-life was also identified as what employee desire most in the workplace.

Despite the strong business case, few organisations in Singapore have fully embraced this new way of work and even fewer have seen sustainable success. A major barrier to its adoption is the workplace culture.

Joanna will be speaking at two sessions on the 11th November as part of the Work-Life Week 2014 organised by Tripartite Alliance of Fair Employment Practices (TAFEP). In both sessions, Joanna explores how work-life can be sustainable and how it can be implemented successfully in organisations.
